P.E

PE is seen as Physical Literacy and used as a tool for embedding our school values: Emotional Intelligence, Motivation, Efficacy, Resilience, Grit and Enthusiasm. We believe that PE develops children’s knowledge, skills and understanding, so that they perform with competence and confidence in a range of physical activities and have the resilience to succeed. Physical Education is taught through a thematic approach which focuses upon the whole child and the fundamentals of movement that underpin all physical success.  In addition to this, discrete activities are taught. PE promotes an understanding in children of their bodies in action. It involves thinking; selecting and applying skills; it promotes positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle. This enables the children to make informed choices about physical activity throughout their lives.
